What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable because we're thrilled to have you join us.The focus is on the Mass rather than what you're wearing. During summertime, it's common to see people in sandals, shorts, and shirts. Some still prefer to dress in their 'Sunday best,' which is perfectly fine too!However, we kindly request that shorts be of a conservative length (no 'short-shorts')and that clothing, in general, be respectable and conservative
Can I receive communion?
Communion, or The Eucharist, is the most intimate expression of our faith.
Catholics believe that the host is the body of Christ, transformed from bread by the priest presiding over the service. Most evangelicals think of Communion as symbolic, so it makes sense that they are not as strict about having the right relationship to it as Catholics and Orthodox Christians who believe it is a sacrament and the true presence of Christ. So, if you are not Catholic, we ask that you not receive communion. However, those not receiving the Body of Christ and Precious blood are invited to come forward with their hands crossed over their chests for a special blessing.
Where do my children go?
“Sunday, the “Lord’s Day,” is the principal day for the celebration of the Eucharist. … It is the pre-eminent day of the liturgical assembly, the day of the Christian family, and the day of joy and rest from work (CCC, 1193).”
Families with children are encouraged to sit anywhere in the congregation that they feel comfortable. We do have cry rooms available in the back Southeast and Southwest corners of our church if needed. The sound of children during mass means our church continues to grow, please always feel encouraged to bring your little ones to Christ!
How early should I arrive?
If it's your first visit, arriving about 10–15 minutes early gives you time to:

You are also welcome to arrive 30 minutes before Mass to join us in the Communal Rosary.
Where should I sit?
Anywhere!
There aren't reserved seats (except perhaps for the choir or those assisting at Mass).
Sit wherever you're comfortable.
Where should I park?
We have parking lots available to the West and East of the Church. The West parking lot is off of W Harvard Ave and offers handicap spaces as well as accessibility ramps. The East parking lot is off of W Stanton St and, while it has handicap spaces and is wheel chair accessible, it is further away from the Church entrance than the West parking lot.

What Happens During Mass?
We Gather Together
The Mass is the central act of Catholic worship. It is where we gather as God's family to hear His Word, offer our prayers, and receive Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. Every Mass follows the same basic structure, making it easy to follow once you become familiar with it.
As Mass begins, we prepare our hearts to worship. The priest processes into the church, we sing together, and we begin with the Sign of the Cross. Early in the Mass, we acknowledge our need for God's mercy and join in prayers of praise and thanksgiving.
We Listen to God's Word
The first half of the Mass is called the Liturgy of the Word.
You'll hear:

A reading from the Old Testament (or the Acts of the Apostles during the Easter season)

A Psalm, which is usually sung or recited together

A reading from one of the New Testament letters

A reading from one of the four Gospels
After the Gospel, the priest or deacon gives a homily, explaining the Scriptures and helping us apply God's Word to our daily lives.
We then stand together to profess our faith in the Creed (on Sundays and solemnities) and offer prayers for the needs of the Church and the world.

The second half of the Mass is called the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Bread and wine are brought to the altar as gifts. Through the prayers of the priest and the power of the Holy Spirit, Catholics believe they truly become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
This is the heart of the Mass—the same sacrifice of Christ made present to us in an unbloody manner, inviting us into His saving work.
